**Archer - Software Engineer 2**

You will have an opportunity to support Archer’s ongoing large scale AWS cloud initiatives. This will involve you working closely with skilled Development and Operations teams, using your experience to ensure that all needs are met as part of code and infrastructure deployment.

**Responsibilities**
- Support our cloud technologies and services, including system outages and customer requests
- Participate in on call rotations, respond to incidents, and work off hours when required
- Collaborate with team members to improve tools, systems, procedures, and security
- Build and maintain documentation around standard operating procedures
- Troubleshooting and supporting issues and requests for the tenants of our SaaS offering
- Monitoring and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and services
- SQL Server administration, including database migrations and basic troubleshooting
- Support a primarily Windows based architecture
- Implement and test high availability and disaster recovery scenarios
- Use, build, and enhance scripts and/or code to automate and solve operational problems with software engineering solutions (e.g. PowerShell, Python, Go)
- Tracking, reporting, and controlling the status of system and resource conditions, software, documentation, and infrastructure changes
- Working with technical support and software development teams to resolve problems
- Provide support to existing customers, potential customers, and internal stakeholders
- Troubleshoot and remediate issues across infrastructure and services, build and implement remediation plans
- Use, build, and maintain Terraform, Chef, and PowerShell code
- Rotate shifts, including working US and EU business hours and outside of business hours when required

**Education & Experience**
- 2+ years working experience with cloud based infrastructure (AWS) & an operations role
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- BS in CS, IT, or related field or equivalent work experience

**Requirements**:

- Focused on continuous documentation and delivery of information in an easily consumable form.

**Additional Requirements**:

- Functional knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
- Working experience with configuration management systems (e.g. Chef)
- Ability to build and operate highly available and reliable production systems in the cloud
- Deep understanding of AWS tool suites and capabilities
- Focused on security as a top-level concern throughout the system
- Familiar with compliance requirements in highly regulated industries
