Plan started working in Egypt in 1981 and has a presence in ten of the 27 governorates in which the country is divided: two urban (Cairo and Alexandria) and eight rural (Giza, Beheira, Kalyoubia, Damietta, Qena, Assuit, Sohag and Aswan). Plan Egypt’s work focuses on child rights, implementing programmes designed to enable communities to improve the lives of the most marginalised children and their families. Plan Egypt’s Country Strategy focuses on five strategic objectives listed below:
Improve the quality of early childhood care & education;
Promote economic empowerment of vulnerable young men & women;
Facilitate girls in realising their full potential in an enabling and gender responsive environment that protects them from all forms of abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence;
Support adolescents and young people, particularly girls to become active drivers of change and lead the way towards more equitable and inclusive societies;
Promote adolescents and young people, particularly girls to be empowered to take informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health and live free from gender-based violence

**Purpose**:
Reporting to the Strategic Partnerships and Advocacy Manager, the SRH and GE Advisor will be responsible for operationalising Plan International’s country and global strategies and policies related to SRH and GE including gender transformative approach. This will include developing innovative programme designs, representation of Plan International Egypt in relevant forums, providing technical guidance to programme implementation teams and documentation of processes and approaches that Plan International uses.

**Dimensions of the Role**: This position has no direct reports, but may need to manage short term consultants or interns periodically. This position has limited budget management responsibilities. This position supports the development of quality programs/projects to promote SRHR, and girls’ and women’s rights and address identified related issues. This position supports high quality project programme implementation by working with Program Quality and Partnerships Unit and Program Units. Represents Plan at national stakeholder forums, networks, coalitions, etc. Support reinforcement of Gender equality concepts and mechanisms in/out of Plan International Egypt.
Accountabilities and Typical Responsibilities - Key End Results of Position
Program Design
Lead the design of innovative projects and programs to address community issues in relation to SRHR in collaboration with Business Development Unit, Program Units and relevant departments at the Country Office in line with the Plan Egypt Country Strategy Paper. This will include but not be limited to developing logical frameworks and concept notes. Lead design of SRH and gender related program packages, guidelines and manuals that are aligned with Plan Egypt country strategic plans and facilitate operationalization of Plan Egypt’s strategic objectives. Ensure the mainstreaming of Sponsorship commitments, gender transformative approach standards and any other relevant corporate guidelines in projects designs. To act as resource person in the organisation for SRH and gender equality and keep oneself up to date with developments happening in these field both nationally and internationally.
Strategic Partnership & Policy Advocacy Develop strategic partnerships with key constituencies to elicit support for and maximize impact of Plan’s work. Develop and implement influencing plan which includes partnership mainstreaming in collaboration with Program Units and Programme Quality and Partnerships Unit (PQP) to ensure active, meaningful and continuous relationship. Develop and implement influencing action plan related to sexual reproductive health and gender equality themes using all relevant tools and techniques. This will include, but not be limited to, developing policy briefs, advocacy messages, organizing conferences and seminars, etc. To routinely develop and submit progress reports, status updates and briefs on emerging issues to
