**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage the accounts payable process, including processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and issuing payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, reconciled and in accordance with IFRS
- Lead the month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Support in the timely submission of tax and audit supporting schedules as required.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other key accounting areas.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of GL and accounts payable processes.
- Ensure documentation is complete and as per company policy/accounting & audit standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, external auditors, and tax authorities.
- Review the work of the junior team members and provide guidance to promote a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Support the Finance manager in complex technical areas.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.

The Person

**Desired Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Qualified or part-qualified certified accountant (ACCA, CA, CPA, or similar)
- 4-5 years of experience in accounts payable, general ledger accounting, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards (IFRS).
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and proficiency in Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Prior experience in audit is preferred
