Direct Tax and Compliance Specialist

Envision Employment Solutions is currently looking for a Direct Tax and Compliance Specialist for one of our partners, a global leader in the chemical industry field.
**Job Summary**:
The Direct Tax and Compliance Specialist is a part of Group Tax in the Finance Center of Excellence (COE). The Specialist is responsible for ensuring adherence to direct tax regulations and optimizing the company’s tax position. This role involves managing the preparation, filing, and reporting of direct taxes, including corporate income tax and withholding tax. The Specialist will work to maintain compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, handle tax audits, and provide strategic tax planning support.

**Responsibilities**:
**1. Direct Tax Compliance**:

- Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of direct tax returns for HQ and OpCos, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, and other relevant direct taxes
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax filings and related documentation

**2. Tax Reporting and Documentation**:

- Prepare and review tax provisions, schedules, and supporting documentation for financial statements.
- Maintain comprehensive and organized tax records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes

**3. Tax Planning and Strategy**:

- Assist HQ and OpCos in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position
- Analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations (UAE, Egypt and Europe) to provide guidance on tax-efficient practices

**4. Regulatory Compliance**:

- Stay updated on changes in direct tax legislation and assess their impact on the company's operations
- Implement necessary changes to maintain compliance with evolving tax regulations

**5. Audit and Risk Management**:

- Support preparation for direct tax audits by providing required documentation and addressing auditor inquiries
- Identify and mitigate direct tax risks, and recommend corrective actions as needed

**7. Internal Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with finance, legal, and other relevant departments to address direct tax issues and provide advice on tax implications for business decisions.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field is a plus
- Proven experience of at least 5+ years in direct tax administration in a CoE or Specialist role
- In depth knowledge across direct tax and compliance processes
- Understanding of applicable direct tax laws (UAE, Egypt, Europe)
- Excellent written and verbal Arabic and English language proficiency
