Mep Assistant Cost Manager

AESG are currently recruiting MEP Assistant Cost Managers to join our growing cost management team based in New Cairo, Egypt to work on various large-scale building and infrastructure projects.

As an MEP Assistant Cost Manager, you will support project leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, capturing, and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation, and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.

You should be self-motivated, with the ability to assist the team's management of multiple projects and developing your career towards that objective. The role will primarily be pre-contract based, but with the opportunity to assist on post-contract based projects as required.

This exciting position is to work within a market leading & growing team of cost management professionals, working alongside leading global architects, interior designers, and engineers, advising major industry clients.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in preparing preliminary MEP cost estimates, detailed budgets, and forecasts.
- Support the development of MEP project cost plans based on design documents, specifications, and project requirements.
- Support in the analysis MEP items and benchmark costs for various project assets and line items against similar projects and cost data sources.
- Execute accurate and efficient MEP Quantity take-offs.
- Develop MEP Bills of Quantities (BoQ's) in standardized formats.
- Assist in preparing MEP technical and commercial tender evaluation reports.
- Coordinate with MEP suppliers to obtain updated quotations, keeping current with local and international market trends.
- Participate in MEP cost reporting process and prepare reconciled Cost reports.

**Essential Skills**:

- Experience in assisting the delivery of high quality cost management / quantity surveying services, or demonstration of a desire to do so.
- Previous assistant technical delivery experience gained within a global consultancy firm is preferred.
- Experience or exposure to regional projects is an advantage.
- Experience in the utilisation of digital software for delivery of cost management services.
- Ability to organise and prioritise more than one task at a time.
- Working towards a professional qualification (RICS or similar), or demonstration of a desire to do so.
- BSc, BTech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineer or any relevant degree.
- Minimum 2+ years of working experience.
- A team player with a can-do attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
