The Grant Program Lead is responsible for leading on the English language grant portfolio in Cairo. The incumbent develops and monitors program timelines and other related templates to ensure timely delivery of all activities based on the proposal and agreement with the donor. S/he coordinates all logístical activity and reports to the English Language Program Manager on any delays. S/he develops all required reports and works closely with and supervises the program assistants and interns on selected programs. The Grant Lead also monitors and follows-up on the maintenance and update of all department files. S/he establishes and increases relationships with partners and other Amideast departments and branches. The Grant Lead may also support several different projects across departments based on business need.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead on EL Grant projects
- Develop, maintain and report on program timelines and other prescribed documents
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely technical, statistical, and financial reports to partners, donors, and to Amideast HQ
- Oversee assigned grant programs’ implementation and advise on issues when needed
- Assist EL Program Manager in developing the annual program calendar and monthly work plan
- Assist EL Program Manager in establishing the annual budget forecast
- Cascade EL goals to staff and ensure their understan1ding and follow up on the progress on goals achieving
- Represent EL Program Manager in inter departmental and client meetings
- Provide information and updates to EL Program Manager on staff performance, department performance, expenses and issues
- Lead new initiatives aiming at developing department business
- Serve as main point of contact with EL programs’ grant clients, regarding the program’s implementation
- Develop and follow up on new projects timelines
- Follow up on kick off and planning meetings for new projects
- Supervise and provide leadership to program assistants
- Liaise with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Admin and customer Service departments
- Liaise with EL Dept. in Alexandria office for joint projects
- Prepare RFPs for grants’ procurement and follows up with Admin throughout the procurement process
- Follow up on delayed receivables and payables with the finance department
- Participate in meetings with other departments in order to solve problems and facilitate workflow
- Troubleshoot operations problems if beyond Program Specialist/Assistant authority
- Review teachers’ timesheets and prepare cash advance requests before submitting to EL Program Manager to approve
- Set and follow up on work plan for the EL Program Assistants
- Report periodically on grant projects to EL Program Manager
- Coordinate with the Senior Teacher Coordinator and update him/her on teacher performance
- Inform Senior Teacher Coordinator of teacher needs and future plans to ensure timely hiring and availability of teachers
- Interface with donors when appropriate or as assigned by EL Program Manager
- Supervise and mentor program assistants and specialists
- Conduct monthly meetings to discuss department monthly work plan for grant projects
- Orient, mentor and provide appraisal for new staff in probation
- Participate in English Language Department annual performance appraisal
**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**
**_Required:_**
- Bachelor’s degree and five years of related project management experience
- Native speaker level fluency in spoken and written English
- Fluent in Arabic
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrative creativity and initiative
- Ability to organize and maintain large amount of detailed information
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and accept responsibility
- Excellent computer literacy in MS Office
**_Preferred:_**
- Undergraduate or graduate degree from a U.S. or Canadian university
- Graduate degree in Education, business, or another relevant field
- Experience administering Egyptian and/or U.S. education and exchange activities
- Managerial experience
- Excellent written Arabic
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
- TOEIC score of 785 or equivalent
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
The incumbent in this position will work in a professional office environment and will utilize the following equipment when working from the corporate office or remote home office (either on a full time, temporary, or hybrid basis)
