Senior Finops Lead

**Job Purpose**: As a Senior FinOps Lead focused on cloud costing and pricing, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our cloud expenses across major cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and AWS. You will work closely with finance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective cloud usage. Your expertise will help drive financial accountability and transparency, ensuring that our cloud investments align with business objectives.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Cloud Cost Management**
- Monitor and analyze cloud spending across Azure, GCP, OCI, and AWS.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization, including right-sizing, reserved instances, and unused resource cleanup.
- Implement cost control measures and track their effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain cloud cost forecasts and budgets in collaboration with finance and engineering teams.
- Provide regular updates and reports on cloud spending and variances against the budget

**Financial Analysis and Reporting**
- Analyze cloud pricing models and options to recommend the most cost-effective solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest pricing changes and promotions from cloud providers.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of cloud cost management processes and best practices.
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on cloud costs, usage, and optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate allocation of cloud costs and financial reporting.
- Advocate for and implement FinOps principles within the organization.

**Optimization and Automation**
- Utilize cloud cost management tools and platforms to automate and streamline cost tracking and optimization efforts.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and shell scripts to automate daily tasks on cloud service providers.
- Improve DevOps maturity model utilizing commonly used frameworks.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance cloud cost management capabilities.

**Governance and Compliance**
- Ensure governance and compliance with cloud cost management policies.
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to understand cloud usage patterns and requirements.

**DevOps Skills**
- Integration with GCP, Azure, and other cloud platforms for critical cost insights and recommendations.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and shell scripts to automate daily tasks on cloud service providers.
- Improve DevOps maturity model utilizing commonly used frameworks.

**CloudOps**
- Ensure continuous operation of cloud environments, covering Azure, AWS, OCI, and GCP.
- Conduct architecture reviews and cost optimization.
- Implement best practices for managing environments across multiple clouds.

**FinOps**
- Monitor the costs of verticals/products and establish alerts for budgets and anomalies, ensuring cost control.

**Essential Technical Skills**
- Minimum of five years of experience with Cloud Systems, specifically GCP or OCI.
- Minimum of five years of Cloud Financial/Economics experience.
- Experience using cloud-native optimization tools, such as GCP and OCI Cost Explorer.
- Proficiency in integration with GCP, Azure, etc., for critical cost and recommendations.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field (such as Computer Science, Engineering).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proficiency in cloud cost management tools (e.g., CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, etc.).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Deep understanding of cloud pricing models and billing structures for Azure, GCP, and OCI.
- Familiarity with financial principles and accounting practices as they relate to cloud computing.
