Here’s what you will be doing: Sponsorship and Partnership Management: You will be talking to Managing Directors, Marketing Managers, and whole teams from some of the biggest brands in the world. You will need to understand their strategy and be able to create experiences that will add value to them and their customers. You will be in charge of the account management team. You will get to work on sponsorship packages and activities, account management and partnership strategies. Our partnerships extend beyond sponsors. We have relationships with NGOs, sports entities and initiatives, the government and many others. You will need to foster and strengthen these relationships. Business and Product Development: Cairo runners is a business and it needs to grow and expand and try new things. You will be involved in the strategy and execution of new ideas and business lines. We’re always in search of new experiences and ways to reinvent old ones. Your job to create the perfect environment for that. You will work closely with the Managing Director and the Director of Operations to help bring these ideas to life. Just because something hasn’t been done before doesn’t mean we can’t figure out how to do it. And we want to always be doing new things. Communications and Media: You will be in charge of the social media and branding team.You will be thinking with them about what they want to say and how. From thinking about campaigns and ideas for every event. We’re not just talking to runners and we’re not just talking on Facebook. You will be in charge of our media strategy and expect to appear on a couple of TV shows or on the radio. S/he will also be involved in CR’s public relations strategy and activities.
Cairo Runners is the first street running initiative in Cairo, providing Cairenes with exhilarating mini marathon experience every Friday morning. It all started with a simple desire of running in the streets of Cairo. It sounded impossible at the beginning; having pollution, traffic and not a very equipped running atmosphere, Ibrahim Safwat our founder chose not to give up with all those obstacles but decided to start something beautiful. Having the dream to change Egyptian’s lifestyle to a healthier one where it would be a normal thing for people to hit the streets of Cairo and exercise which was never a familiar thought before. Spreading the word here and there our first run took place 14th of December, 2012 having more than 60 runner showing up that day. The series of runs took place in different neighborhood in Cairo every Friday to ensure a safe and healthy non polluted environment for our runners. The average number of runners every week now reached 2,500 runner.
