Desalination Expert/water Resources Engineer

The Desalination Expert leads the technical team including task leaders and their teams and sub-consultants to develop the most appropriate integrated technical solution and work closely with the PM to confirm that the project is delivered to the agreed scope, budgets and schedules.
- The Desalination Expert is responsible for confirming that all technical outputs conform to the project scope, are developed in accordance with CDM Smith and industry best practice, are safe, have been reviewed in accordance with the CDM Smith quality management system, and are agreed to by the Client.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Civil, Chemical or Water Engineering degree or similar.
- Master’s degree in engineering is desirable.
- Fifteen (15) years of professional experience. Ten (10) years of experience in design, commissioning, start up
and operation in seawater desalination.
- Demonstrated successful multidiscipline team management experience required, multidiscipline project
delivery experience with BIM and VDC modeling preferred.
- Complete understanding of technical project production and delivery methods, including alternate project
delivery.
- Advanced level speaking/writing in Arabic and English.
**Skills**:
- Demonstrated experience working under (and achieving) tight deadlines
- Strong and demonstrated interpersonal and communication knowledge, skills and expertise (oral and written)
- Demonstrated understanding of quality control requirements as laid out in the Quality Management System or project delivery system and free of delinquent deficiencies
- Capable of having difficult conversations, without disruption and alienation among all parties
- Empowers team members and maintains positive attitude during adversity; actively listens through
acknowledgment of other perspectives and dialogue
- Comfortable working with the public in representing the firm
- Strong problem-solving knowledge, skills and expertise
- Self-starter who acts independently within broadly defined objectives, long-term goals, and company policies
