Staff Network Engineer/it Support

**Job Description**:
We're looking for a **Staff Network Engineer/IT Support** that will partner with teams within the IT organization to own and maintain our corporate network in our Cairo, Egypt office, provide IT support to our employees, and work with local vendors on the procurement of new hardware solutions, etc. Use your extensive background in building and maintaining enterprise-level networks to help Procore's growth and innovation across many on-premises and cloud-based network solutions.

As a **Staff Network Engineer/IT Support, **you'll develop a network architecture, design future network architecture, and maintain day-to-day operations of network technology and PC support for our users in the office. You will be working in collaboration with multiple teams and leadership across the company to help align Procore to pertinent Industry standards.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager, IT and Infrastructure, and will be based in our Cairo, Egypt office and will be required to travel to other offices in EMEA (London) as needed. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.

**What you'll do**:

- Investigate and troubleshoot network issues to determine root causes and help create solutions; will be responsible for the on-premise network at our Cairo office
- Support incident response and problem management by providing containment actions and incident analysis related to network technologies
- Interact with industry experts, partners, internal staff, and auditors
- Work effectively as part of a geographically distributed team
- Provide basic laptop support for users in the Cairo office
- Work with local vendors to procure hardware and software; work with local ISPs to ensure high availability of the local network
- Resolve complex software and hardware problems

**What we're looking for**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or MIS or comparable experience; 7+ years of experience in Network Engineering, preferably in a large-scale environment
- 10+ years in IT operations, such as systems administration, network engineering, database administration, security operations, etc.
- Advanced skill level with mastery of most operating systems commands/utilities
- Knowledge experience implementing security policies in various data centre environments
- Solid hands-on technical background, particularly in managing highly complex, multi-platform environments (servers, storage, networks, security, virtualization, systems monitoring, and management); experience in firewall configuration and policy management and with a multi-tiered mission-critical system
- Advanced skill level with mastery of CIFs, DHCP, DNS, A/D, TCP/IP; familiarity with network analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, etc.)
- Strong understanding of secure wireless communications paired with robust distributed systems and architecture knowledge; experience with securing access to SaaS business systems
- Firm grasp of practical cryptography usage, able to recommend the best approach for storage, transport, and identity purposes
- Experience with various performance engineering tools, methodologies, and frameworks (predictive modelling, capacity planning, performance analysis and stress testing, and benchmarking)
- Create alerting for operation and investigation teams and work with them to automate manual processes
- Perform deep data analysis, correlating data from disparate systems, and using metrics to drive consistent system improvements
