The global VMware Professional Services Organization influences the success of each VMware implementation. The Professional Services team is dedicated to the success of the customer and their digital strategy. The Professional Services team ensures that VMware customers are successfully implementing their business plans from adoption all the way to a fully functioning solution.

A new, fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join our growing project delivery practice, focusing on multiple projects. This will give you the opportunity to manage end-to-end customer facing Professional Services projects. You will learn how to act as the single point of contact for the project work. You will also gain experience managing virtual teams.

**Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 3-4 months you will work toward completing?**

The Project Manager will be responsible for taking engagements that are of low/medium complexity from initiation to close out. The project manager will adhere to the VMware PSO methodology and deliver these engagements to mutually agreed upon scope, schedule and budget within the parameters of the overall account strategy.

This role provides the single point of contact/accountability for the project responsible for project planning, managing work activities, project financials, communication, status reporting, risk management, and change management.

The project manager is expected to bring functional depth as well as solid project management skills to work collaboratively with the customer resources and the Vmware project team to deliver results.

- Project delivery - Delivering to mutually agreed upon scope, schedule and financial parameters (project profitability)

- Provides value beyond simply managing the administrative aspects of the project
- Works with accounts teams and Services Sales to build relationships and provides business intelligence on client operations, and decisions.
- Providing thought leadership to enhance the quality of VMware-customer relationship;

**What type of work will I be doing? What assignments or requirements* will I be performing on a regular basis?**
- Manage the planning, delivery and closure of medium risk, medium complexity projects types using the PMO methodology and processes, and delivery resources as required to ensure smooth delivery, project closure, customer satisfaction, and harvesting any IP developed by the project
- Work with the operations analysts and resource managers to ensure that all VMware systems are maintained for the project to ensure accurate forecasting
- Control and tracking of the project deliverables, resources scheduling, revenue tracking reporting as well as partner work orders and cost tracking
- Work with delivery resources to manage services and ensure the projects are within schedule, scope, features/functionality, revenue, travel and expenses and margins
- Ensure customer satisfaction through smooth project delivery, clear and responsive communications and controlled change, facilitate customer satisfaction and project quality reviews as required
- Contribute to PMO standards/processes and best practice development
- Maintain a high standard of technical product awareness about the VMware Services catalogue
- Ensure adherence to PMO standards and compliance through risk identification and management, active issue management and scope control ensuring that all changes follow the project change control process.

The hiring manager for this role is Joustine Safwat, Senior Manager for Project Management Organization for EMEA. She started her career as an Associate Project Manager and rose the career ladder to manage Project Management teams delivering primarily Telecom, Consultancy and Migration projects for the past 11 years

She took over the Project Management team in Cairo responsible for delivering projects in all over EMEA.
