Role Overview – Senior Commercial Engineer

We are seeking a
Senior Commercial Engineer
for a
full-time, on-site position
based in
Cairo, Egypt
.

The role plays a key part in protecting project margins through effective cost control, commercial management, and accurate financial forecasting across multiple real estate developments.

The Senior Commercial Engineer will work closely with project management, technical, contracts, and procurement teams to ensure budget compliance, commercial governance, and informed financial decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial and cost control activities for assigned projects
  • Prepare, review, and manage
    BOQs
    , cost plans, and tender evaluations
  • Monitor project budgets, cash flow, and cost forecasts to safeguard profitability
  • Prepare interim valuations, payment certificates, and final accounts
  • Manage variations, claims, and change orders with a focus on commercial risk mitigation
  • Support procurement strategies, subcontractor evaluations, and commercial negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with contract conditions,
    FIDIC
    , and company commercial procedures
  • Provide periodic commercial reports, cost analysis, and recommendations to senior management

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
  • Minimum
    7+ years of experience
    in commercial management, cost control, or quantity surveying
  • Strong expertise in cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting
  • Proven experience in BOQ preparation, cost planning, and value engineering
  • Solid knowledge of
    FIDIC
    and construction contract administration
  • High commercial awareness with strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and cost control / commercial software
  • Previous experience with
    real estate developers
    or large-scale construction projects is highly preferred
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
