The Project will cover the development of luxurious residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, tourism amenities, and economic zones. If successful, Bechtel's contract for the delivery of this project will be for project management and construction management services.Job Summary:In this role, you will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.Major Responsibilities:On larger (PFE Tier II - >$1B and/or >1500 craft) or more complex jobs, performs the duties of the Project Field Engineer, responsible for coordination of all activities related to the area of responsibility and interfacing with all other operating sections of the job-site.Leadership/SupervisionProactively engages with their teams' development through CPM, competency development/assessment and feedbackDevelops and recommends the construction engineering staffing plan for approval by the Site Manager (or appropriate level of Project Management) and prepares employee requisitions.Directs construction engineering activities of the assigned construction engineering staff, ensuring compliance with procedures.Work Planning & PackagingDirects the design of temporary construction facilities as required.Material ManagementDirects preparation of requisitions for field procured materials, material substitution, services, equipment.QuantitiesPossesses responsibility for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting.Safety / Quality ControlEnsures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.STR / Subcontract CoordinatorReviews and approves inspection test plansCoordinates reviews of subcontractor submittalsEducation and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and Skills:Prior heavy construction/industrial surveying experience and knowledge of functions related to a broad range of heavy construction surveying activities, including earthwork, excavation, concrete, structural steel, mechanical, and piping, etc. installation layout and verificationDemonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment, able to formulate a working relationship with survey team members, other departments, contractors, and survey functional managementDemonstrated ability to maintain a safe work ethic and work environment at all timesDisplays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise mannerExcellent problem-solving abilityExperience working on multiple work frontsAdvanced knowledge in the use of modern survey equipment including Robotic Total Stations, Digital Levels and GNSS survey systemsBasic knowledge in the use of scanners, drones, and ground penetrating radarFamiliarity with heavy equipment Machine Control technologyAbility to direct survey CADD operators and familiarity with digital data work processesAbility to work under time constraints and must be adaptable to changing conditionsKnowledge of international standards and specification and codes as applicable, including various Safety procedures and practices associated with construction and surveyingIntermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applicationsKnowledge of BIM and GISMust be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the client, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycleTotal Rewards/Benefits:For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond Because our teams face some of the world's toughest challenges, we offer robust benefits to ensure our people thrive.
