Project Overview:

Bechtel is pursuing a significant new award of work in Egypt. The Project will cover the development of luxurious residential, commercial, and recreational spaces, tourism amenities, and economic zones. If successful, Bechtel's contract for the delivery of this project will be for project management and construction management services.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide project field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

Work Planning & Packaging

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
• Interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.

Material Management

• Initiates requisitions for field purchases
• Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.

Quantities

• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.

Safety / Quality Control

• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.

Technical

• Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities

System Turnover Coordinator

For Direct Hire

• Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.

STR / Subcontract Coordinator

• Reviews and approves inspection test plans
• Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals

Education and Experience Requirements:

Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Prior heavy construction/industrial surveying experience and knowledge of functions related to a broad range of heavy construction surveying activities
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment, able to formulate a working relationship with survey team members, other departments, contractors, and survey functional management
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe work ethic and work environment at all times
• Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Advanced knowledge in the use of modern survey equipment including Robotic Total Stations, Digital Levels and GNSS survey systems
• Basic knowledge in the use of scanners, drones, and ground penetrating radar
• Familiarity with heavy equipment Machine Control technology
• Ability to direct survey CAD operators and familiarity with digital data work processes
• Ability to work under time constraints and must be adaptable to changing conditions
• Knowledge of international standards and specification and codes as applicable, including various Safety procedures and practices associated with construction and surveying
• Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
• Knowledge of BIM and GIS
• Must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the client, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle
