Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on packing machines (e.g., flow pack, vertical form-fill-seal, shrink wrapping, labeling, carton packing, etc.).
  • Diagnose mechanical issues such as gear problems, bearing failures, misalignment, pneumatic/hydraulic faults, and machine jamming.
  • Conduct daily machine inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and setup to ensure smooth operation.
  • Support production teams during machine start-up, changeovers, and calibration.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns quickly to reduce downtime and maintain production targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and machine performance.
  • Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance plans (PM schedules).
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and report unsafe conditions.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement solutions to enhance equipment efficiency (OEE).
  • Collaborate with electrical/automation teams to resolve electromechanical issues.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience with packing machines in manufacturing or FMCG environments.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, gear systems, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and machine manuals.
  • Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with maintenance systems (CMMS) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
