Job Summary
The Export Section Head will lead the export department, overseeing all aspects of international trade operations, including sales, logistics, documentation, and compliance. This role requires strategic planning to expand market reach, manage client relationships, and ensure seamless coordination with production and supply chain teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in agricultural exports, strong leadership skills, and expertise in navigating global trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Export Strategy & Market Expansion
: - Develop and implement export strategies to penetrate new markets and increase sales for fruits, vegetables, and other agricultural products.
- Identify and pursue opportunities at international trade fairs and exhibitions to promote company products.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge in global markets.
- Sales & Client Management
: - Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with international buyers, ensuring profitable agreements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients in key regions (e.g., Europe, Gulf, and Asia).
- Address client inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Operational Oversight
: - Manage end-to-end export processes, including order processing, shipping, and delivery coordination.
- Supervise export documentation (e.g., invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin) to comply with international trade regulations.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely supply and quality standards.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
: - Ensure adherence to international quality standards (e.g., Global G.A.P, ISO) and destination-specific regulations.
- Monitor compliance with customs, phytosanitary, and export/import laws in target markets.
- Implement quality control measures to meet buyer specifications for fresh and processed produce.
- Team Leadership
: - Lead and mentor a team of export coordinators and specialists, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and provide training to enhance team capabilities.
- Reporting & Analytics
: - Track export performance metrics (e.g., sales volume, market share, profitability) and report to senior management.
- Provide data-driven insights to optimize export operations and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- Education
: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, International Trade, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, Doctorate in Business) are a plus. - Experience
: - Minimum of 7-10 years in export management, preferably in agribusiness with a focus on fruits and vegetables.
- Proven success in leading export operations and achieving sales targets in international markets.
- Skills
: - Strong negotiation and client relationship management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of export documentation, customs regulations, and international trade compliance.
- Proficiency in market analysis and strategic planning for global expansion.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Fluency in English and Arabic; additional languages (e.g., French, German) are an advantage.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and export software (e.g., for logistics tracking).
