Job Summary/Objective
The Managed Services Engineer – Infrastructure Professional is responsible for managing and supporting the core IT infrastructure across virtualized and physical environments. This role ensures the stability, integrity, and efficiency of systems operations by monitoring, configuring, and troubleshooting servers, network devices, and virtualization platforms. The engineer is also expected to contribute to automation, performance tuning, and proactive system improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Systems & Virtualization Management
• Monitor and manage all installed systems and infrastructure, particularly on VMware environments to ensure high availability, performance, and operational continuity.
• Diagnose and resolve VMware platform issues to prevent service disruption and maintain platform stability.
• Install, configure, and maintain virtualized systems and related storage (vSphere, vSAN) to support scalable and resilient service delivery.
• Infrastructure Automation & Optimization
• Plan and implement systems automation using appropriate tools and scripts to improve efficiency, reduce manual errors, and speed up deployment.
• Evaluate existing systems and provide recommendations for optimization to continuously improve system performance and reliability.
• Windows Server & Active Directory Management
• Manage and maintain Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange Servers to ensure secure, reliable identity and communication services.
• Prepare, test, and maintain operating systems and application software to keep systems secure, current, and aligned with organizational standards.
• Security & Data Integrity
• Design and enforce infrastructure security systems and policies to protect organizational data and meet compliance requirements.
• Monitor systems for potential threats and proactively address vulnerabilities to safeguard against breaches and maintain infrastructure integrity.
• Networking & Data Center Support
• Manage and administer network services (DNS, FTP, Web, etc.) to ensure reliable internal and external connectivity.
• Maintain the internal network structure and routers of the data center to support stable and secure communication channels.
• Install, configure, and manage firewalls, switches, and hardware components to provide a secure and high-performing infrastructure.
• Resolve infrastructure, hardware, and operational issues in the data center to minimize downtime and maintain business continuity.
• Troubleshooting & Technical Support
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance or availability issues on network and server systems to reduce impact on users and services.
• Log incidents and maintain documentation for system issues and resolutions to enhance knowledge sharing and operational transparency.
• Provide guidance to IT support staff and escalate complex issues when necessary to ensure effective resolution and improve team capabilities.
• Project Support & Continuous Improvement
• Stay current with industry technology trends and provide recommendations, to keep infrastructure modern and aligned with business needs.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects, to accommodate future growth and technological advancements.

Requirements
Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: 6-10 years of experience in infrastructure, systems engineering, and virtual environments.
• Advanced experience with VMware technologies (vSphere, vSAN, Horizon, vRealize, NSX, vCloud).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, and Exchange.
• Experience in network management: DNS, DHCP, firewalls, routers, switches.
• Familiarity with system automation and scripting for infrastructure tasks.
• Proficiency in monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting large-scale infrastructure deployments.

Preferred Certifications (optional but advantageous):

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server / Azure Administrator
• ITIL Foundation
