Infrastructure DBA Engineer

Position Summary:

·      
Database Management
: Oversee the installation, configuration, and upgrading of database management systems (DBMS). Ensure databases are efficiently maintained and properly configured to support organizational needs.

·      
Performance Monitoring and Tuning
: monitor database performance and implement tuning measures to optimize queries, indexes, and configurations, ensuring fast and reliable access to data.

·      
Backup and Recovery
: Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans to protect data integrity and availability. Regularly test recovery processes to ensure data can be restored quickly and accurately.

·      
Security Management
: Implement and manage database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive data and comply with regulatory standards.

·      
Data Modeling and Design
: Collaborate with application developers and data architects to design database schemas, ensuring data is organized efficiently and meets application requirements.

·      
Troubleshooting and Support
: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, providing technical support to development teams and end-users to ensure smooth operations.

·      
Documentation and Reporting
: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies. Generate reports on database performance and utilization for stakeholders.

·      
Capacity Planning
: Analyze database growth and usage trends to plan for future capacity needs, ensuring that the database infrastructure can scale with organizational demands.

Collaboration
: Work closely with IT teams, including network engineers and system administrators, to integrate database systems with other technologies and applications.

·      
Staying Current
: Keep up with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices to continuously improve database performance and security.

Professional qualifications:

·      Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering OR proven experience in infrastructure

·      Oracle OCA certified is preferred

·      Microsoft SQL certified is preferred.
