Project / Program Background
The Sustain it project is implemented by Etijah in partnership with GIZ to strengthen the capacities of 12 NGOs in Assiut and Kafr El Sheikh to effectively contribute to climate change mitigation by implementing inclusive, community-led solid waste and circular economy initiatives. The project aims to enhance technical, financial, and institutional capabilities of partner NGOs while fostering collaboration with local authorities for sustainable environmental impact.

2.2 Geographic Context

  • Assiut Governorate (Upper Egypt): Focus on improving local solid waste practices in underserved urban and peri-urban communities facing infrastructural and institutional challenges
  • Kafr El Sheikh Governorate (Nile Delta region): Focus on empowering rural-based NGOs to develop localized circular economy models in collaboration with local authorities and agricultural stakeholders

2.3 Project Need

The project seeks to address implementation gaps among NGOs by strengthening technical, financial, and administrative capacities through tailored training, enabling effective collaboration with government actors, fostering community engagement in environmental education, and supporting the formation of local environmental committees.

SCOPE OF WORK
4.1 Training Design & Development

Under the supervision and in close cooperation with the Etijah team, the constancy will:

  • Develop detailed training methodology and curriculum for the 5-day program aligned with participant needs and learning objectives
  • Design engaging and interactive training activities incorporating group exercises, real-life simulations, and interactive case studies relevant to NGO operations in Egypt
  • Create comprehensive training schedule considering logistics, breaks, and optimal participant engagement
  • Develop pre- and post-training assessment tools to gauge baseline knowledge and measure learning progress
  • Create training materials including PowerPoint presentations, interactive exercises, case studies, and handouts
  • Provide technical support and guidance to participants throughout the training
  • Implement evaluation mechanisms including participant feedback collection and learning outcome assessment
  • Submit comprehensive training report documenting activities, participant feedback, and recommendations for future improvements

4.2 Training Delivery

  • Location 1: Assiut Governorate (participants from 4 NGOs)
  • Location 2: Kafr El Sheikh Governorate ( participants from 8 NGOs)
  • Total Participants: 36 technical and administrative staff
  • Format: In-person, instructor-led workshops
  • Duration: 5 consecutive days per location
  • Schedule: December 2025 (Assiut) and January 2026 (Kafr El Sheikh)
  • Methodology

The Training Will Be Conducted Through

  • Interactive workshops combining theory and practice.
  • Group exercises to encourage collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Real-life simulations to apply concepts in practical scenarios.
  • Case studies relevant to NGO operations in Egypt.

Required Minimum Qualifications And Professional Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in NGO capacity development and training.
  • Proven expertise in project planning, M&E, and technical report writing.
  • Strong facilitation skills and experience with interactive training methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English.

Deliverables

  • A detailed work plan and roadmap outlining the development timeline for the training.
  • Comprehensive project schedule that will provide a day-by-day breakdown of activities, assigned responsibilities, and deadline for each training module.
  • Engaging training materials that include high-quality PowerPoint presentations, interactive exercises, case studies, handouts, and any other relevant learning materials aligned with the training objectives.
  • Successful delivery of 5 days blended training for the tech governorates and providing ongoing technical assistance and guidance to participants throughout the training.
  • Implementing a standardized Pre- and Post- Training Assessments to gauge participants' baseline knowledge, and measure learning progress.
  • Detailed training evaluation report that documents the entire training process, including participant feedback, analysis of pre-and post-test results, key learnings, and recommendations for future improvements.
