Job Description

As a
Senior AI Engineer
at Seqoon, you'll lead the design and deployment of the intelligent core powering Sai's real-time conversational systems. You'll architect and implement end-to-end AI pipelines that blend speech recognition, natural language understanding, and LLM reasoning to create seamless, human-like enterprise communication experiences.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll shape product architecture, push technical boundaries, and mentor others while contributing directly to a platform that's setting new standards in applied AI for business.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Leadership:
  Design and oversee the development of complex AI systems that integrate telephony, real-time audio streaming, ASR/TTS, LLM orchestration, and dialog management.
• System Integration:
  Lead the integration of multiple AI components (e.g., speech recognition, language understanding, synthesis, and knowledge retrieval) into a cohesive, scalable, and low-latency platform.
• Advanced AI/ML Development:
  Build, fine-tune, and optimize large-scale language models and related ML frameworks. Ensure the models meet production performance and reliability standards.
• Pipeline Optimization:
  Develop strategies to improve end-to-end performance—from audio ingestion through model inference to audio playback—ensuring real-time responsiveness and robustness.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  Partner with product managers, software engineers, and data scientists to translate business needs into technical solutions. Mentor junior engineers and lead code reviews.
• Research & Innovation:
  Stay at the forefront of AI research, particularly in areas like LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and speech processing. Propose and implement innovations that drive product value.
• Security & Compliance:
  Ensure the design and implementation of AI systems adhere to best practices in data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2).
• Operational Excellence:
  Develop strategies for monitoring, logging, and maintaining the health of AI pipelines in production environments. Advocate for automation and CI/CD best practices in model deployment.
• External API and Cloud Integration:
  Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and third-party APIs for telephony and voice processing services. Ensure seamless integration and scaling of external systems.

Qualifications

• Educational Background:
  Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
• Industry Experience:
  Proven track record in AI/ML development, with substantial experience working on large-scale, production-grade AI systems—especially in areas such as LLMs, speech processing, and real-time data pipelines.
• Technical Proficiency:
  Expert in Python and proficient in ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). Demonstrated experience with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face) and expertise in fine-tuning and deploying large language models.
• System Architecture:
  Deep understanding of end-to-end system design, including real-time audio streaming, telephony integration (e.g., Twilio, SIP), ASR/TTS engines, and dialog management systems.
• Advanced Techniques:
  Strong grasp of Retrieval-Augmented Generation techniques and familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, or FAISS).
• Cloud & Infrastructure:
  Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and designing scalable, resilient, multi-tenant architectures.
• Leadership & Mentorship:
  Proven experience in leading technical teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving complex projects from concept to production.
• Communication Skills:
  Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Startup Environment:
  Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment is highly desirable.
