Job Purpose

The Learning & Development Senior Specialist is responsible for identifying, designing, implementing, and evaluating learning and development initiatives that enhance employee capability, engagement, and performance across the organization. The role ensures that training programs align with business objectives, talent strategies, and the company's competency framework, while maintaining operational excellence and cost efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

1. Training Needs Analysis & Planning

  • Conduct annual training needs analysis (TNA) in coordination with department heads and HRBPs to identify organizational, functional, and individual learning gaps.
  • Translate business priorities and competency gaps into actionable learning plans and budgets.
  • Support the preparation of the annual learning calendar and L&D budget in alignment with HR strategy.

2. Program Design & Development

  • Design and customize training programs (technical, behavioral, leadership, and compliance) tailored to company culture and performance needs.
  • Develop in-house learning modules, e-learning content, and blended learning experiences using modern instructional design methods.
  • Liaise with subject matter experts and external vendors to ensure training content relevance and quality.

3. Training Delivery & Facilitation

  • Facilitate selected behavioral and soft-skills training sessions for targeted employee groups.
  • Ensure the proper coordination, logistics, and communication of learning events across departments.
  • Maintain a strong internal trainer pool and provide coaching for internal facilitators.

4. Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

  • Measure the effectiveness and ROI of training programs using Kirkpatrick's four levels of evaluation (reaction, learning, behavior, and results).
  • Recommend improvements based on post-training feedback, performance data, and business outcomes.
  • Maintain updated training records, dashboards, and KPIs.

5. Talent & Leadership Development

  • Support the design and implementation of talent and succession programs (e.g., high potential, leadership pipeline).
  • Coordinate learning journeys for key talent segments in partnership with Talent Management and HRBPs.
  • Facilitate onboarding and induction programs to ensure new hires integrate effectively into company culture.

6. Vendor & Budget Management

  • Source, evaluate, and manage external training providers to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor L&D budget utilization and prepare quarterly expenditure reports.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with learning partners.

Job requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Professional certification in L&D, Instructional Design, or Coaching is a plus (e.g., CIPD, ATD, SHRM).

Experience:

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development or Talent Development.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end training cycle management within a corporate environment (preferably manufacturing or consumer goods).
  • Experience with digital learning platforms (LMS), e-learning tools, and performance analytics.

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent instructional design and facilitation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and digital learning trends.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and HR systems (SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle, etc.).
  • Data analysis and reporting skills for measuring learning impact.
