About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Officer with specialized experience in sourcing wood and iron materials for construction projects. This role is critical to ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of structural and finishing materials that meet project specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate suppliers for timber, plywood, steel bars, beams, rebar, and iron fixtures.

  • Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to optimize cost and quality.

  • Coordinate with project managers and site engineers to forecast material needs.

  • Issue purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely arrival at construction sites.

  • Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier performance logs.

  • Stay updated on market trends and pricing for wood and iron materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum 2 years of procurement experience in the construction industry.

  • Strong knowledge of wood and iron specifications used in building projects.

  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.

  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with local and international wood and iron markets.
