Position Overview

The
Key Account Executive
is responsible for managing, developing, and maintaining strong relationships with major clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth. The role involves coordinating shipping operations, providing timely solutions, and acting as the primary point of contact between key customers and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management & Client Relations

  • Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts, ensuring timely and consistent communication.

  • Build long-term relationships with clients to understand their business needs and logistics requirements.

  • Address client inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide effective solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Conduct regular account reviews to assess performance, service quality, and opportunities for improvement.

Operations & Coordination

  • Coordinate with operations, documentation, customs clearance, and transport teams to ensure smooth shipment execution.

  • Monitor shipment milestones and update clients proactively on status, delays, or issues.

  • Ensure timely issuance of documents (BLs, invoices, delivery orders, certificates, etc.).

  • Work closely with carriers, agents, and service providers to secure booking space, rates, and ensure service reliability.

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Identify up-selling and cross-selling opportunities within existing key accounts.

  • Support pricing teams in preparing quotations, RFQs, and tender submissions.

  • Achieve assigned revenue targets and contribute to overall business development goals.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track account performance, volume trends, and profitability.

  • Prepare periodic reports for management on account status, issues, and opportunities.

  • Analyze client data to support strategic planning.

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure all shipments comply with company policies, carrier requirements, and international shipping regulations.

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, bookings, and service issues.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.

  • (2–5) years of experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or logistics (key accounts experience preferred).

  • Strong understanding of ocean/air freight operations, Incoterms, and logistics processes.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.

  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with CRM/ERP systems is an advantage.
