About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled
Power BI Commercial Analyst
to join our team and support data-driven decision-making across the organisation. Working remotely within the UK, you will be responsible for designing insightful dashboards, conducting commercial analysis, and turning complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that drive revenue performance, operational efficiency, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Development & Reporting

  • Build, maintain, and optimise
    Power BI dashboards and reports
    to support commercial, finance, sales, and operational teams.
  • Develop
    data models, DAX calculations
    , and visualisations aligned to business needs.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting tools.

Commercial & Financial Analysis

  • Analyse sales, margin, customer, product, and market data to identify trends and performance opportunities.
  • Support pricing strategies, forecasting, demand planning, and profitability analysis.
  • Prepare and present commercial insights to senior stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.

Data Management & Collaboration

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, Marketing, Operations) to gather requirements and deliver analytical solutions.
  • Support the development of automated workflows and self-service reporting.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering/IT to enhance data pipelines and ensure efficient data availability.

Performance Tracking & Strategy Support

  • Monitor KPIs across business units and highlight performance gaps.
  • Provide recommendations to improve commercial performance and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and periodic forecasting cycles with data-driven insights.

Skills & Experience Required

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in
    Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service
    .
  • Advanced skills in
    DAX, data modelling, and Power Query (M Language)
    .
  • Experience working with
    SQL
    , relational databases, or cloud data platforms (Azure, Snowflake, etc.).
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

Commercial Skills

  • Prior experience in a
    commercial, finance, BI, or analytics
    role (2–5+ years typical).
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to convert data into actionable business insights.
  • Experience with sales, revenue, pricing, forecasting, or margin analysis is highly advantageous.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or relevant field (preferred but not mandatory with equivalent experience).
  • Power BI or Microsoft Data certifications are a plus.
