Project Background

In alignment with Egypt Vision 2030, and Egypt's digital transformation strategy, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has embarked on building Digital Egypt through developing Egyptian public sector and Building the digital skills of Egyptian Citizen. Since 2007, MCIT has led national efforts to empower children and young people to navigating the online world safely and allowing them to be equipped with the necessary skills to identify threats, and fully understand the implications and results of their behavior online. The Initiative is an integration to MCIT work with the Child online Protection Committee (COP) for supporting a safer environment for Internet usage among children according to COP scope of work, in addition to setting a strategy for child online protection and internet safety in alignment with national directions. In this respect the Digital Citizenship Initiative targets on highlighting digital challenges mainly connected with children as and teens, and embracing spreading community awareness with online hazards and protection mechanisms for all Egyptian citizens as well.

The Digital Citizenship Initiative work through four main pillars:1) Availing specialized content related to digital citizenship skills and internet safety including online threats, protection measures, reporting mechanisms and available supporting efforts ;2)- Building the capacities of teachers to model best practice of online safety and to actively teach the skills to be a good digital citizen; 3)- Organize national awareness campaigns and competitions to encouraging beneficiaries to be safe and positive in the digital society and 4)- Engage local partners to exchange experiences and build successful experiences.

Hence, the project coordinator will work under the full supervision and monitoring of the Digital Citizenship and Internet Safety Initiative Manager and will be responsible for providing support and assistance in various aspects of technical implementation of the initiative interventions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• The duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include but are not limited to the following:
• Support the Project Manager in overall general coordination, follow up, and supervision of project implementation;
• Develop in-depth knowledge of specific Digital Citizenship and Internet Safety related issues;
• Research and translating trending online articles and Identifying latest trends related to digital Citizenship, online hazards, preventions and protection tools, etc;
• Manage specialized content and regularly update sections of the Digital Citizenship Portal.
• Coordinate outreach activities, and providing technical and logistic support for of trainings, seminars, workshops and any related events designed for beneficiaries and stakeholders;
• Follow up closely with monitoring and evaluation unite to provide progress reports, best practices and success stories;
• Develops presentations to individuals, public, and private organizations on the initiative, goals, activities, and achievements;
• Organize and document meetings with relevant partners and stakeholders;
• Prepare and keep records of the Initiative correspondence, documentation, and reports;
• Complies with all the Central Department for Community Development rules and regulations;
• Any other tasks as determined by the Project Manager.

Qualifications:

·      A Bachelor's degree in relevant fields.

·      A minimum of two years of experience in technical project coordination.

·      Excellent research skills/ analytical skills (experience in digital citizenship and online safety is a plus).

·      Excellent knowledge and use of computers and office software packages.

·      Excellent command of Arabic and English.

·      Excellent presentation and communication skills with local and foreign stakeholders.

·      Good knowledge of designing specialized content and delivering training professionally

·      Analytical and report writing skills.

·      Self-motivated and achievement-oriented.

·      Excellent organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
