Role Overview

We are actively seeking a seasoned Product Designer with a solid experience building and launching products at startups to join our team. This role is pivotal for our product development, playing a pivotal part in driving the vision, strategy and execution of pushing our Fuel system forward. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to shape the growth of a revolutionary product like Octane Fuel, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that effectively meet market needs and customer demands.

Mission

Design simple, user-friendly, and functional product experiences that drive user and business value. You will own the end-to-end design process, from discovery to delivery, and work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ship experiences people love.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Understand user needs and translate them into effective solutions
  • Own design for one or more product areas — from wireframes to final UI
  • Design, prototype, and iterate rapidly based on user insights and business needs
  • Collaborate closely with PMs and engineers in a fast-paced product squad
  • Maintain and evolve our design system and ensure design consistency
  • Advocate for user-centered design across the team
  • Ensure quality of shipped experiences through regular reviews and QA

What We're Looking For

  • Strong UX thinking and visual design skills. Creativity and customer empathy are your bread and butter.
  • 5+ years experience designing web or mobile applications
  • Lead end to end design process for new products and features, from concept to launch, ensuring an exceptional user experience.
  • Translate strategic business objectives into design decisions, connecting design outcomes to key performance metrics.
  • Ability to balance user needs, technical constraints, and business goals
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills
  • Clearly communicate and document design rationale for cross-team understanding, facilitating smooth handoff to engineering and QA
  • Create detailed wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals using Figma.
  • Experience with usability testing and research
  • Familiarity with design tokens or component libraries
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and tools, sharing knowledge and introducing new methods or technologies to the team.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving design critique
