**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We are actively seeking a qualified Software Engineering Team Lead to step into a leadership role within our organization. In this pivotal position, you will be entrusted with guiding a dedicated and diverse group of five to ten developers, encompassing front-end, middleware, and backend expertise. Your role involves steering their efforts towards specific projects and deliverables closely aligned with our business priorities. Adaptability is key - the dynamic nature of projects may evolve in response to shifting business needs.

Your responsibilities extend beyond project oversight to collaborating closely with regional technology resources, managing work efforts on your program, and occasionally integrating resources from a wider pool. This multifaceted role demands a meticulous attention to detail and a robust background in soft-ware engineering. In addition to managerial responsibilities, you will play a vital role in coaching and mentoring junior and intermediate team members. We are not merely seeking a theoretical manager; we desire someone who can actively dive hands-on into the code alongside the team. **RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide clear guidance and leadership to the software engineering team, ensuring alignment with project goals and business priorities.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Effectively manage and oversee the execution of projects, adapting strategies to meet evolving busi-ness needs and priorities.
- Drive the team towards the successful completion of deliverables within specified timelines, main-taining a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate seamlessly with front-end, middleware, and backend developers, leveraging their diverse expertise to enhance overall project outcomes.
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with regional technology resources to opti-mize collaboration and resource utilization
- Efficiently manage work efforts on the assigned program, ensuring optimal utilization of team mem-bers and occasionally integrating resources from a wider pool when necessary.
- Monitor and assess team capacity, making strategic adjustments to workload distribution as re-quired.
- Play a pivotal role in the professional development of junior and intermediate team members through effective coaching and mentorship.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development within the team.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality and adherence to best prac-tices.
- Ensure the team follows established coding standards, contributing to a robust and scalable code-base
- Actively engage in hands-on coding and technical problem-solving, setting an example for the team.
- Balance managerial responsibilities with a commitment to technical excellence and a deep under-standing of software engineering principles.

**Frameworks, boundaries and decision-making authority**:

- Reporting to the Head of Development Execution
- In consultation with your line manager, make decisions regarding project scope adjustments, considering business priorities, resource availability, and project timelines.
- Communicate scope changes effectively to the team and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and align-ment
- Exercise decision-making authority in fostering collaboration between front-end, middleware, and backend developers.
- Make decisions on optimizing cross-functional workflows and communication channels for enhanced pro-ject outcomes
- Set and enforce coding standards within the team, conducting regular code reviews to ensure compliance.
- Make decisions on code quality improvements and technical debt management to maintain a scalable and maintainable codebase
