The Business Optimization Manager will work within Apache Egypt in Cairo reporting to the Director of Business Process Optimization who is based in Houston.
Apache operates a Joint Venture, Khalda Petroleum, in partnership with the Egyptian General Petroleum Company in Cairo. A merger of two existing Apache-operated JVs is underway and is expected to be completed by year-end. The merger will involve a number of integration and optimization projects intended to streamline and modernize the JV business and operational processes. The Business Optimization Manager will be responsible for acting as an internal consultant to complete the integration and drive forward a portfolio of optimization and continuous improvement projects. This is a high impact and highly visible role to deliver long term change.

**This role is primarily responsible for the following**:
Managing projects to achieve a clear objective
Establishing project structure through project plans, governance and reporting
Facilitating project progress while managing costs and benefits realization
Building relationships and trust with stakeholders and achieving alignment toward common goals
Developing executive ready materials that clearly and concisely articulate the desired message
Partnering with support functions as needed (e.g., HR, IT, Communications) to deliver project outcomes
Taking ownership to find and implement solutions
Thinking strategically and working tactically
Qualifications & Experience
At least 8 years of experience leading change for large companies, with a preference for at least 3 years of experience in the upstream energy industry; consulting experience is highly desired,

Capability to prioritize effectively and work quickly and decisively with multiple workstreams happening in parallel
Ability to identify what needs to be done and proactively address needs, in some cases with limited oversight or direction
