**Gender Advisor**

***Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
**TASKS**
- Participate in selecting NEEREs, preferably with high potential, based on pre-identified selection criteria for more considerable expansion to women-led/owned NEEREs, in collaboration with WESEP, Assiut, and Alexandria businesswomen association for the outreach.
- Collaborate with WESEP and ABWA to provide tailor-made technical assistance, Egyptian gender sealing, and women empowerment training to women-owned/led businesses in different regions.
- Coordinating the training sessions during sectoral workshops to discuss challenges facing women-led businesses in the sectors.
- Coordinate with the Financial and investment Advisor to boost exports by enhancing the participation of Women-Owned/led businesses in the investment funds activities.
- Support TSIs to develop and implement gender inclusion strategies.
- Provide gender awareness and women in international trade training to Trade Support Institutions (TSIs) and Women’s Associations to foster buy-in and support of women-owned/led NEEREs.
- Collaborating with the communication manager, assisting Trade Support Institutions in developing gender-sensitive communication strategies, media coverage, press releases, and interviews with key women entrepreneurs.
- Collaborating with TSIs to identify, train, and appoint a gender-focal person in each TSI dedicated to supporting women-owned/led NEEREs.
- Collaborate with the WESEP project on the gender seal certification program to certify NEEREs and train gender auditors.
- In collaboration with the e-commerce advisor, Ensure the Integration of gender aspects in e-commerce policy.
- Support the MEL function in reporting on standard gender indicator Gender-2.
- Perform other duties required.

**Required Qualifications**:

- University degree with 5-7 years of professional experience in development, monitoring, evaluation, gender analysis, social inclusion, trade, and women empowerment, with at least two gender-focused years.
- Post-graduate studies in Gender studies will be considered as an advantage.
- Skills in facilitation of stakeholder engagements/workshops.
- Evidence of having undertaken similar assignments.
- Experience in reviewing the operations of related institutions on gender and implementation of gender-specific policies, programs, and projects.
- A good understanding of international trade, business support organizations, SME business challenges, and issues related to SMEs' internationalization will be considered an additional advantage.
- Demonstrate awareness of access to finance challenges facing women entrepreneurs in Egypt.
- Good communication skills, including proficiency in English and report writing skills.
- Mobility to travel to Governorates within Egypt.

**Project Overview and Role**:
***USAID’s Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) project builds on decades of U.S. investments in Egyptian businesses and economic policy with the aim of substantially increasing Egyptian exports from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The TRADE project focuses on seven selected sectors: engineering products, food processing, home têxtiles, ready-made garments, printing & packaging, chemicals, and building materials. Through the project, USAID works with the Government of Egypt to improve the trade and investment policy environment and reduce barriers to trade. USAID also partners with business associations and export councils to strengthen the trade services ecosystem for small
- and medium-sized exporters, as well as with private companies to help them access new international markets to increase export sales. TRADE tackles many trade and investment-related issues to sustainably increase Egyptian exports and drive economic growth.
