Description

Ensure that bank’s credit-granting activities conform to the established strategy and that approved policies and procedures and CBE guidelines are implemented.

Manage an assigned credit portfolio with ongoing credit monitoring of assigned portfolio performance and detect early warning signals, deviations, deteriorating financial or operating performance and negative market conditions affecting clients’ performance.

Manage an assigned credit risk team (including senior credit analysts and/or credit analysts) who are responsible to conduct credit review to existing and prospect clients to ensure quality of bookings within acceptable turnaround time. Same includes but is not limited to analyzing clients’ market position, business model and financials.

Analyze existing and potential risks inherent in credit proposals and ensure that it is properly mitigated and accordingly to recommend ORR using the applied risk rating model.

Escalate any credit problem/red flags pertaining to assigned credit portfolio to the SME Credit Risk Head and/or SME Credit Risk Senior Manager

Provide recommendation to SME Credit Risk Head and/or SME Credit Risk Senior Manager regarding the presented credit requests for new granting and/or existing customers.

Evaluate and provide recommendations to restructure irregular accounts wherever applicable.

Ongoing focus on market and regulatory changes that could affect credit decision.

Review and assess control and monitoring reports generated by Credit Administration and Control Departments in order to identify potentially problematic accounts.

Maintain proper communication with all relevant departments to ensure completion of daily tasks/transactions.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration or Finance or Economics or a related field.

Credit Certification is a must.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk or corporate/SME banking.

Obtaining a master’s degree in a related field will be considered an asset.

**Skills**:
Excellent command of English and Arabic languages (written and spoken)

Excellent Business Acumen of external market and up-to date market trends and practices.

Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills.

Good writing and presentation skills.
