**This position is for Egyptian nationals and Egyptian residency holders only.**

**BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT**:
The escalation of the conflict which began on 7 October in Gaza, resulted in the disruption of electricity, food, water, and fuel supplies, as well as restricted access to and movement within Gaza. This has caused a significant worsening of the humanitarian crisis and a large-scale displacement of the population within Gaza. Due to the magnitude of the humanitarian crisis, the significant impact on the supply chain and the access challenges to and inside Gaza, humanitarian organizations face significant logistics challenges for the delivery of relief supplies and life-saving cargo. WFP has established supply chain corridors and delivery mechanisms to deliver food assistance into Gaza, including Egypt corridor. WFP is establishing required staffing structure to best support the operational needs and to deliver assistance into Gaza through all possible means.

To implement well-defined standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The incumbent will be allocated to monitor and manage a dedicated warehouse facility together with the service provider and undertake below responsibilities:

- Provide support to logistics operations and activities, following standard processes and facilitating, directly or indirectly, the effective delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries.
- Closely coordinate with the warehousing service provider to manage the stock in, storage and stock out of WFP food commodities and non-food items out of the contracted warehouses.
- Coordinate the receipt/dispatch of commodities, to ensure accurate recording, accounting, and reporting is available at all times to support decision-making.
- Responsible for the accuracy of warehouse transaction records including identification of discrepancies, to ensure immediate and accurate reporting on commodity movements in line with the corporate requirements.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reports and statistics on warehouse operations, to support informed planning and decision-making.
- Implement preventive measures, to ensure that commodities are preserved in good condition and that quality control actions are initiated as appropriate following WFP established procedures.
- Work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, in order to deliver aligned and coherent warehouse services.
- Perform any other tasks as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:
**Education**:
A bachelor's degree in a related field

**Experience Knowledge & Skills**:
Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining a logistics database and running queries on ongoing shipments, pipeline information, insurance claims, and food stock.

Experience in administering third party service providers’ contracts.

Experience in working with various logistics service providers.

Good communication and negotiation skills.

Good excel and system skills.

**Languages**:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic (Level C) and English

No appointment under any kind of contract will be offered to members of the UN Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (ACABQ), International Civil Service Commission (ICSC), FAO Finance Committee, WFP External Auditor, WFP Audit Committee, Joint Inspection Unit (JIU) and other similar bodies within the United Nations system with oversight responsibilities over WFP, both during their service and within three years of ceasing that service.


WFP will not request payment at any stage of the recruitment process including at the offer stage. Any payment requests should be refused and reported to local law enforcement authorities for appropriate action.
