- Job Description
- Responsible for Client Services desktop support. This includes maintaining PCs, monitors, printers and end user equipment consistent with a level two support.
- ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- 1. Supports all hardware and software including servers, computers, printers, monitors, switches, etc. Coordinates vendor support for maintenance and repairs as required. Works with end-users and other team members to troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve issues with computer hardware and software.
- 2. Assists all employees in the efficient use of various programs, reporting and other technology tools to meet defined business objectives. Involves working within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate control tolerances.
- 3. Installs and supports software products by Microsoft, Adobe, Noble and other vendors. Requires use of a personal computer.
- 4. Assists Desktop Team members, Telecom Administrators, Developers and other technicians in resolving end-user problems with programs, hardware and other equipment, and network connectivity. Participates in other IT projects or responsibilities as assigned.
- 5. Builds, delivers, configures, and supports client workstations, using new or existing hardware. Installs approved software protection, and enable automatic updates using established methods.
- 6. Supports field personnel with mobile computing needs, including laptops, PDA, Web-Mail, VPN access and other company-issued hardware.
- 7. Tones in ports, replaces equipment, monitors servers, pushes out software upgrades, replaces cables and assists with port identification for reconfiguring.
- 8. Relocates users as required, when they are assigned to new cubicle or office areas and completes operational status of the users in their new areas. 9. Documents activities in progress via weekly Status Reports, Incident Reports / Logs, etc.
- 10. Participates in the formulation of desktop management procedures, documentation and policies.
- 11. Assists with special projects and other company efforts.
- REQUIREMENTS- Requires good communication skills (written and verbal); testing and technical documentation skills.-
- Must be self-motivated, creative, and able to manage multiple assignments while working under minimum supervision. Uses a relatively high degree of concentration to perform trouble shooting and resolve hardware, software and data integrity problems for computer users.-
- Proficient in but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Project, Publisher, Visio, Internet Explorer and Acrobat.-
- Must be able to prioritize projects to meet the needs of the organization.Experience breaking down and repairing laptops and desktops.-
- Outstanding organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.-
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems with end user tools in a consistent manner.-
- Ability to effectively communicate with the business users and interact professionally with all levels of business users.-
- Proven ability to work well individually or with a team.-
- Knowledge ordinarily acquired through an Associate's degree in Computer Science or IT plus 0-2 years of computer systems experience.-
