**COMPANY **DESCRIPTION**

Amideast/Egypt provides a wide variety of English language courses for professionals from different sectors, university and high school students, and young learners with diverse language development needs. English language programs and activities are designed for corporate clients, government entities, donor agencies, and the public.

The English Language Program Lead is responsible for managing the English language portfolio for the Amideast/Egypt office in Alexandria, which features English language offerings for fee-for-service courses as well as certification and exchange services. S/he is responsible for the oversight of all Alexandria English language and test prep public classes, in addition to Alex’s English language corporate clients. S/he will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the EL classes at Amideast Alexandria and reporting results of development interventions to ACD.

The English Language Program Lead will also work closely with staff in Amideast’s Cairo office, the Amideast Regional Director of English Language Programs, the Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Director, and staff in other departments. Working within a team environment.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Teacher Management**
- Support the recruitment of English language instructors
- Participate in the orientation and training of new English language staff, including and especially teachers
- Implement professional development activities for English instructors
- Observe classes and provide feedback to the instructors against a consistent performance rubric to ensure program quality
- Review and provide feedback on teachers’ lesson plans
- Hold regular meetings with instructors to address issues, answer questions and provide support
- Review teacher payment requests and supporting documents provided by the EL Program Assistant

**Programmatic & Operational Responsibilities**
- Oversee the day-to-day logístical planning and implementation of English language (EL) programs in Alex to ensure quality program delivery and effective operational management
- Provide financial and budgetary oversight for programs; participate in the development of annual program budgets and pricing reviews for EL programs and services
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of internal policies and procedures to maintain consistency among EL services in Egypt
- Implement agreed-upon EL strategic work plans, monitoring and evaluation systems, and program quality standards
- Contribute to the development and achievement of annual strategic objectives and KPIs for the EL Department
- Contribute to the expansion of EL business through the provision of client details, possible leads, and innovative ideas.
- Participate regularly in Amideast’s regional English language activities for joint planning, exchange of ideas, and alignment of quality standards
- Prepare and submit reports regarding EL activities for the Alexandria.
- Monitor and report to relevant management on all programmatic deliverables, timeline, progress, targets achieved and any obstacle/ challenges faced

**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**

**_ Required_**
- Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics/TESOL, or a related major
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in coordinating/managing training programs
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in classroom teaching
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team
- Experience with planning curriculum and assessment
- Experience with teacher training, mentoring, or coaching
- Extensive knowledge of e-learning and online teaching practices
- Extensive knowledge of the TESOL field and current ELT trends
- Demonstrated problem-solving, innovation, and ability to take initiative
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Native/near-native proficiency in spoken and written English
- Excellent computer literacy in MS Office
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities

**_Preferred_**
- Spoken and written fluency in Arabic
- Additional professional credentials such as Project Management Professional Certification (PMP), or Project Management for Development (PMD Pro) certification
- Minimum TOIEC score of 950 or equivalent
