**TITLE**:Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Coordinator**TEAM/PROGRAMME**:Cairo

Area/Operation

**LOCATION**:50 % Cairo 50 % Aswan**GRADE**: 5**CONTRACT LENGTH**:One year**CHILD SAFEGUARDING**:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people _either _frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

**ROLE PURPOSE**:
The MHPSS coordinator will provide technical and operation support to SC partner NGOs in greater Cairo and Aswan to help on the implementations of MHPSS on time with high quality under the supervisor supervision of the MHPSS Senior Officer including the assessment, guidance, training through remote and offline modalities. The position holder will also be responsible for regular monitoring of implementation. The coordinator will assist in building the capacities of local NGOs in greater Cairo and Aswan to deliver community-based MHPSS services.

**KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY**:
**Project Implementation**
- Coordinate the implementation of the community MHPSS program activities provided by PNGOs.
- Actively participate in the development of a time plan for the implementation of MHPSS capacity building plan and activities.
- Coordinate the implementation of community events aimed at raising awareness of mental health.
- Assist the MHPSS Senior officer in hiring of skilled psychological support team in our partners NGOs.
- Assist the MHPSS Senior officer in the capacity building of MHPSS team in our partner NGOs.
- Assist the MHPSS Senior officer in monitoring the quality of field activities and ensure innovative techniques are used to ensure children’s participation.
- Assist the MHPSS Senior Officer to build the capacities of partner NGOs to deliver MHPSS community -based activities.
- Assist the MHPSS Senior Officer to Integrate MHPSS activities with other components activities and coordinate with the coordinators of other components (Education
- Protection -) to ensure the implementation of comprehensive and coherent interventions.
- Coordinate and lead all the logístical work of MHPSS component related to training, meetings and all their administrative tasks.
- Carry out any other necessary tasks in support to the MHPSS team.
- Ensure that the activities are implemented respecting the child safeguarding polices of SC.

Reporting and documentation
- Compile monthly reports reflecting the progress in the MHPSS activities implementation, assist the team to highlight success cases and document challenges encountered during the implementation of activities.
- Work with the project participants and team members to monitor, document and convey information and success stories.
- Contribute in the development/updating of the project data base, monitoring system, and carry out activities according to the agreed upon indicators on a regular basis.

Partnerships/Networks
- Develop positive close working relationships with field staff and other SCI services such as MEAL, communication and finance.
- Assist in creating networking events for beneficiaries to widen their access to different stakeholders.
- Assist in developing effective partnerships and networks with the goal to create platform by which adults and youth participate can discuss mitigation options for at risk children and youth.

In case of Emergency:

- Promote children's rights, contributing to their well-being and protection in times of emergencies, guided by humanitarian principles and code of conduct.
- During emergencies, he/she should act in a way that facilitates SCI’s response to emergencies, giving priority to all assigned.
- Be prepared to support SCI interventions in response to emergencies and show needed flexibility
