Body & Chassis Buyer

**Job Description**:
As the **Body & Chassis Buyer **you will be responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services. Responsible for actively participating in development of commodity strategy, sourcing/negotiations, global/regional material budget execution, and interface with suppliers or internal stakeholders. Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and independent judgment. Represents purchasing activities on program team and vice-versa. Partner with Program Managers to represent purchasing and communicate program requirements/vehicle line overview.

**Other responsibilities include**:

- Ability to work effectively cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships
- Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc.)
- Experience handling commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance

**Skills and Knowledge**:

- Proven competence in negotiating skills
- Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- Automotive industry experience
- Knowledge of procurement software
- Knowledge of materials management
- Capable of interpreting market data
- Able to read blueprints and to understand basic engineering documents
