**Job Summary**:
To ensure development and appropriate implementation of quality related guidelines & compliance to quality assurance standards, thus establishing robust quality operations and systems for the business unit.

To design new quality systems and provide inputs for quality improvement plan; review quality related incident reports and provide inputs on rejections; suggest corrective actions and preventive quality improvement interventions to prevent rejection of future batches

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

QUALITY R & D
- Implement the quality philosophy for the business unit around Quality Control and Quality Assurance involving inspection, identification of bad quality, rejection and process improvement to reduce poor quality production in the plant
- Finalize the department budget, ensure adherence to department budgets and minimize operating costs and overheads operational
- Ensure preparation of timely and accurate counter measures to address customer issues
- Provide support to other departments including Production, Purchase, NPD, QA, Sales and Marketing on what systems and protocols should be followed in the raw material and packaged material process
- Ensure that patrol inspection schedules are adhered to, and review the inspection reports on a periodic basis
- Respond to critical quality complaints from customers, evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions taken for critical market complaints and ensure that complaints are closed in a timely manner
- Monitor the cost due to rejections, rework and support other departments in controlling the same
- Monitor the in-process quality by setting standards and supporting the production teams to adhere to the same
- Conduct root cause analysis of the quality related issues/incidents and ensure required countermeasures
- Ensure that incidents are dealt with as per standard operating procedures and within prescribed timelines
- Review customer/supplier rejection reports, conduct root cause analysis of the quality related issues/incidents, collect and analyze data related to product for which complaints is received, present the same to the respective team and ensure required countermeasures
- Ensure all raw material and packaged material is procured from approved suppliers and matches the specifications provided by the R&D and the packaging department
- Ensure that incidents are dealt with as per standard operating procedures and within prescribed timelines
- Conduct in-process quality checks by testing the product sample at critical points for ensuring high quality output
- Ensure implementation of quality management systems as required, review the deviations, if any and recommend corrective actions
- Provide QA support to ensure right-the-first time execution of new product roll-out. Maintain relationship with municipal authorities for various purposes inclusive of certificate issuing for the exports of the goods, implementation of new standards and registration of new product
- Work with various agencies including government bodies and private institutes that offer guidance in further performance improvement of the company in terms of systems, procedures, food quality and safety requirements
- Audit and ensure implementation of ISO systems and procedures, Food Safety Management systems and procedures and Safety, Health and Environment Management systems & procedures across the plant
- Drive quality related improvement projects at the plant including customer projects as well as internal improvement initiatives and deploy corresponding analytical tools to measure effectiveness of the same

**KPIs**:

- Implementation of corporate Quality standards (customer driven and external)
- % reduction in Cost Of Poor Quality
- Number of process audits successfully completed
- Number of vendor quality audits
- Completion of training man hours for the team (for critical skills)
- % cost savings achieved through process improvements
- Preparation & Implementation of NPD & VE Projects
- Commercialization of NPD & VE Projects
- Target completion for NPD & VE for BU
- Customer Visits - Build relation with customers along with sales team

**Work experience requirement**:

- 8+ years of working experience in food industry preferred,
- Result-oriented attitude, pragmatic hands-on approach, and can-do mentality.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Exposure to various oils and fats production and packing processes is preferred
- Fluent in English, additional language skills are preferred.
- Willing to travel (up to 20% of time).
- Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
- Demonstrable project management skills. Driving license B preferred.**Qualification**:

- Bachelors or masters in Technology with specialization in food technology
- Bachelor/Master degree in Oils and Fats Technology, Food Science or Food Technology.
