Job Description Summary:
The Software Database specialist is a technical project delivery role responsible for defining, specifying, documenting and delivering software components for complex and critical projects in Egypt. Being able to understand and interpret customer requirements is a key skill required to be successful in this role. You must also be able to listen, understand and provide assistance for technical matters relating to Automated Fare collection systems.

The Software Database specialist works alongside the Software Engineer Manager and the Head of Engineering.

The Software Database specialist will be located at the Hitachi office in Cairo.

**Responsibilities**:
The Software Database Specialist responsibilities are as follows, he/she must:

- Develop a subset of the software engineering activities required to develop a software solution or product
- Analyses the needs whatever the used means (e.g. advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes,)
- Describes the software functions and requirements
- Formalizes of the Database specification and the design to develop the solution or product
- Performs development activities, respecting deadlines, costs and quality, with a clear vision of risks and opportunities,
- Responsible for database implementation and administration.
- Develop and Maintain database System for multiple projects, MS SQL.
- Implemented database security feature.
- Analyse database performances and optimized database operation for improved efficiency.
- Develop data models and database structures to support business requirements
- Monitor database performance and identified potential issues to ensure operational reliability
- Performs database analysis, development, security support, and performance monitoring and tuning
- Work with cross functional teams including the Services, and Product Development to improve tools and processes
- Good foundation knowledge in IT systems development life cycle, Database, Operating Systems, SQL, scripts, program languages etc.
- Supports the IVVQ Team and provide the relevant impact analysis.
- Supports deployment monitoring and advanced support for new features.

Special Requirements:

- Interstate and overseas travel required.
- Database specialist with 8+ years' experience providing oversight of database design, data integrity and system performance
- Skilled in developing and implementing database solutions
- Experience in supporting Oracle database will be an advantage
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor's level degree in a computer science - or relevant - field.

- Software coding Skills:

- Web Services, Object oriented methodology
- OS Windows / IDE Visual Studio
- Database Skills:

- SQL Server 2008 R2 / SQL Server 2012/ SQL Server 2016
- Database development (Stored Procedures, SQL request)
- Specific Tools:

- ClearCase/GIT
- TFS (defects management) = Azure DevOPs
- Experience in Web Oriented Architecture solution
- Microsoft office (Word, VISIO, Excel, MS Project)
- tool’s practice like DOORS, POLARION or REQTIFY
- tool’s practice like TFS or JIRA
- Autonomy
- Versatility and flexibility
- Time spirit and good communication skills
- Teamwork, Rigorousness, commitment and accountability are crucial
- Fluent in English. French is a nice to have.
- DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Experience on Back Office Centric solution.
