**Role Purpose**

The Enterprise Infrastructure and HIP Lead is responsible for managing a team of Technical Specialists responsible for the provisioning, design, integration, delivery, and support of a stable and reliable environment for the Data Centre type of processing platforms, in line with agreed service agreements. EI encompasses all aspects of processor hardware, Unix/Linux/Win operating system software and Middleware through the maintenance of an effective relationship with various IT vendors, suppliers, and partners. Egypt EI domain owner is responsible for ensuring a healthy environment of Unix/Linux/Win, Middleware, Database and Storage systems in country. Adhering to HSBC Group processes and procedures, Compliance guidelines and IT security policies. The role holder is also responsible for participation in group activities to set standards and assessing dispensation requests related to that domain. MENAT Lead of HIP is responsible for managing a team of technical specialists responsible for different types of middleware products in MENAT countries, resources are based in Turkey, UAE, Egypt, and India.

- Provide regional and local direction to meet the goal of improved Servers' platforms in accordance with Group Guidelines.
- Ensuring the Group compliant security guidelines are implemented and maintained.
- Run Service Improvement Programs for HBME locations.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance to Group hardware standards and evaluation of new products.
- Driving sustainability and greening initiatives based on HSBC Group directions.
- Implement relevant compliance monitoring, reporting, documentation, and training.
- Participate in Major Incident Reviews and Service Improvement Programs as required.
- Manage the relationship of third-party suppliers contracted to carry out work on behalf of the department.
- Manage the training, development, and performance of all staff in the operation to ensure that they have suitable skills to undertake their roles effectively and develop their careers.

**Typical Targets and Measures**
- Improve the efficiency of the IT infrastructure by aligning various projects to meet the strategic objectives for Global IT initiatives, by aligning with other strategic initiatives while being effective and efficient.
- Implement strong planning and resource forecasting techniques.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group’s standards of ethical behavior; and stay abreast of technology trends and advise IT and the business about potential benefits/impacts.
- Work closely with Group EI and HIP teams, IT Security and SWD to define strategies for keeping the bank environment protected from malicious attacks.
- Implement strong planning and resource forecasting techniques.

**Leadership & Teamwork**
- Take overall responsibility for a team of IT professionals to participate in the delivery of the required services, Inventory, Asset and Configuration Management Programs / Projects.
- Develop employees’ knowledge and skills in specific areas of expertise, providing coaching and sponsoring training solutions where necessary.
- Ensure staff follow appropriate policies and processes necessary to ensure the safety and integrity of existing system infrastructure within agreed service levels.
- Providing direction to the team and establishing its role within the existing Regional and Group strategies
- Organise and motivate the project team, establishing roles within the team and managing team members and relationships with other teams.
- Monitor and report on the progress of the team against plan, providing visibility of the work and the interdependencies and acting to address any issues, including revising the plan as appropriate.
- Establish processes that support effective management within agreed parameters.
- Promote and enforce Group standards, practices, and technology approaches within Enterprise Infrastructure at regional and global levels by representing the MENAT region.
- Influence the development of new products and services from suppliers to meet Group needs and at times influence the Group Enterprise Infrastructure to develop new products and designs to meet the regional initiatives.
- Engage and manage relationships with third party Enterprise Infrastructure equipment and services suppliers at the regional and global level.
- Manage relationships at a senior level with business, Group IT, Central banks, other external IT regulatory authorities in the MENAT region.
