What will you be doing?
- Provide legal advice to the business concerning legal and compliance matters.
- Support relevant teams and colleagues in making and responding to contractual claims against/from customers to protect the company’s business
- Review, draft and negotiate contracts and other legal documents.
- Draft contract templates.
- Develop, implement and update relevant legal policies and guidelines.
- Resolve legal disputes.
- Ensure that shareholders’ meetings, board meetings and related filings and documentation are timely done in compliance with applicable laws and reported according to company’s policy.
- Depending on the jurisdiction and matter in question, the Legal Counsel is expected to represent the company before judicial, tribunals, governmental agencies and in dispute resolution proceedings.
- Focus on preventing legal and contractual problems.
- Keep abreast of the changes in laws and regulations and advise on how they impact the company/business
- Coordinate legal proceedings before courts, government agencies, or other authorities so that the organization’s interest is protected.
- Maintain and coordinate contacts with external lawyers and related advisors.
- Maintain strong connections with colleagues within the organization and share best practices and to understand current and future needs.
- Collaborates with stakeholders (business colleagues) to achieve targeted business results with acceptable level of legal risk
- Provides training on legal areas affecting the company’s business

Are you the one?
- Master of Laws or an equivalent legal degree
- Minimum 5 years of PQE from the private sector (as an in-house legal counsel or from a law firm)
- At least 5-8 years of experience but a talented and ambitious individual with 2-3-years could be considered.
- Admitted to the local Bar Association and accepted before the Court of Appeal
- Must be fluent in English and Arabic (both written and spoken). French will be a major asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Has a structured, organized, effective working style and the ability to adapt and navigate in a fluid and fast changing business environment.
- Ability to handle a significant workload and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team in a cooperative manner
- The person will be responsible for legal matters in Egypt and 2 other countries of smaller business size.
