Director Development

Develop high-quality software design and architecture.
- Develop and implement robust, secure, and scalable asynchronous and multi-threaded code for distributed and high-load systems.
- Design and implement clustered, highly available, normalized, scalable, and efficient database architectures and schemes to support project requirements.
- Design and architect the infrastructure needed to support the project(s) to be delivered and carry out needed tests to ensure infrastructure fitness and readiness.
- Review existing and new designs of lead leaders and provide feedback to better make the project secure, scalable, and efficient
- Develop, plan, and approve all technical decisions and lead the implementation of requirements
- Review completed tasks and provide key feedback related to the security, scalability, and efficiency of the delivered solution
- Make critical decisions on the technology stack
- Carry out integration requirements
- Analysis of system requirements and prioritization of tasks to ensure successful and timely delivery of the project in hand
- Develop technical specifications and architecture
- Write clean and efficient code using.Net programming languages
- Manage and execute upgrades of existing programs
- Review and debug code
- Performance and security validation and verification testing
- Conduct troubleshooting exercises
- Analyse systems flow, data usage, and work processes and investigate program issues
- Review and refactor code when required
- Ensure compliance with the documented software processes and procedures throughout the life cycle of software products
- Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
- Implement and enforce best practices, standards, and procedures including quality and delivery methodologies
- Supervise quality assurance processes, automation testing, and systems tests
- Conduct and lead regular system-wide tests to evaluate the speed, load, and security of the project
- Manage technical requirements for the department and new requirements when needed
- Study current and new industry trends, technologies, and software development
- Collaborate with all capability streams as an advisor of all technologies involved
- With a variety of partners and innovators, develop APIs and required products
- Build industry network relationships
- Develop team’s expertise, conduct regular meetings, and conduct knowledge-sharing protocols - Create, develop, and ensure a healthy culture and engaged employees.
- Conduct performance management requirements for setting objectives, monitoring, and measuring results/deliverables
- Ensure direct reports have the required technical and soft skills for the role and provide talent management guidance/opportunities to drive continuous learning
- Provide high-level employee engagement mechanisms to drive team collaboration and operational effectiveness
- Mentor and groom team to build individual and collective team technical capabilities
- Identify weak links and invest time to grow their talent

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Master’s Degree in Information Technology or similar discipline or Business an asset
- 12-15 years of comprehensive experience in mainstream and start-up operations
- Between 8-10 years as Director or Senior Architect in a startup or leading large teams for insurtech, fintech, e-commerce, digital products, or similar
- Extensive experience in agile methodologies (TFS), MS-SQL, React JS, React Native, and MS.NET programming experience is an asset
- Experience in test automation tools such as Appium, Selenium, JMeter, PostMan, SOAP UI
- Excellent experiences working with quality assurance and Business teams, problem-solving and high-level verbal and written communication skills
