**Translator**, Egypt**

**Purpose of the Job**

This position is responsible for providing translation for documents from Arabic to English and vice-versa. In addition, entering data into the database systems; verifying the validity and accuracy of any data before entry as well as acquiring any missing data**.**

**Essential Functions and Responsibilities**
- Translate, review, and process children's letters and sponsors' letters from English to Arabic and vice versa
- Translate and process different types of forms received from the Programs Department from Arabic to English
- Translate, review, and copy edit different types of documents such as reports, manuals, flyers, contracts, forms, presentations, etc. from Arabic to English and vice versa
- Subtitle videos and short movies from Arabic to English and vice versa
- Interpretation during meetings and conferences
- Ensure perfection of data from different database systems, and ensure data is complete and sensible
- Perform other relevant tasks and functions as required by the direct manager

**Required Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills**
- Bachelor's degree
- Professional translation diploma is a plus
- 3 years of professional experience as a translator
- Excellent organizational skills

- Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness
- Excellent research skills
- Strong writing skills to write clearly and informatively and edit for spelling and grammar

**Fiscal Responsibilities (budgeting responsibilities, approval privileges on purchase orders and check requests, reporting and auditing functions)**

None

**Extent of Public Contact (within and outside the organization)**
- Regular contact with Egypt Office staff
- Occasional interaction with staff in HQ or in other international offices

**Working Conditions and Environment (i.e., necessary travel, unusual work hours, etc.)**
- Typical office environment limited to walking, sitting, typing, using office equipment, and occasional lifting of boxes or luggage during travel
- Working out of the official hours and on weekends may be required
