The Tech Office Engineer supports construction projects by preparing technical documentation, reviewing project plans, and coordinating between on-site teams and project management. The role involves managing schedules, budgets, resources, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and client requirements.**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Technical Documentation & Reporting**:
- Prepare and review shop drawings, as-built drawings, and material submittals.
- Maintain updated project records, including specifications, designs, and revisions.
- Generate technical reports, such as progress reports and issue logs.
- **Project Coordination**:
- Collaborate with design and construction teams to ensure project specifications align with requirements.
- Assist in managing contracts, procurement processes, and correspondence with vendors and suppliers.
- Coordinate with site engineers to address technical challenges and provide solutions.
- **Scheduling & Planning**:
- Develop and monitor project schedules using planning software like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Track progress against timelines and milestones, flagging potential delays or issues.
- Assist in resource allocation and ensure timely delivery of materials to site.
- **Quality Assurance & Compliance**:
- Review technical drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Monitor implementation of quality control procedures during construction phases.
- Assist in audits and inspections to maintain project quality.
- **Cost Control**:
- Prepare and review bill of quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates.
- Support budget tracking and financial reporting for ongoing projects.
- Assist in managing variations and claims in coordination with quantity surveyors.
- **Problem Solving**:
- Provide technical solutions for on-site issues and liaise with consultants to resolve design discrepancies.
- Recommend improvements in methods, techniques, or materials to optimize efficiency.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in a technical or office engineering role within the construction industry.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite; familiarity with planning software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
