Data Management Platform Specialist

Envision Employment Solutions is currently looking for a Data Management Platform Specialist (Data Lake) for one of our partners, a global leader in the chemical industry field.
**Job Summary**:
The Data Management Platform Specialist (Data Lake) is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's data lake infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring that data is efficiently ingested, stored, and accessible for analytical and business intelligence purposes. The specialist works closely with data engineers and business stakeholders to enable robust data management and analytics capabilities, supporting Fertiglobe's strategic objectives.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design and implement data lake architectures to support diverse data sources and formats.
- Develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines to ensure efficient data collection and integration.
- Optimize data storage solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and security within the data lake environment.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to define data requirements.
- Implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor and manage data lake performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks.
- Provide support for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data lake architecture, processes, and best practices.
- Support data analytics and business intelligence initiatives by providing reliable and timely data access.
- Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of data lake infrastructure to identify improvements.
- Provide training and support to staff on data lake usage and best practices.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for data lake solutions and services.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, with a focus on data lakes and large-scale data environments.
- In-depth knowledge of data lake architectures, data ingestion pipelines, and ETL processes.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry, understanding the specific data needs and challenges.
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data security principles.
- Proficiency in data management tools and technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and AWS/GCP/Azure data services.
- Skills:

- Demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining data lake infrastructures.
- Strong technical knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, AWS, Azure).
- Proficiency in data integration and ETL processes.
- Proficiency in data governance and data quality management principles.
- Strong understanding of data protection regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues.
- Ability to provide training and support on data lake usage and best practices.
- An adaptable and agile mindset towards continuous improvement to keep up with evolving processes and technology.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to understand, interpret and analyze internal and external data to predict trends.
- Ability to work closely with team members, management, senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English. Ability to articulate and present complex information in a concise and concise manner.
