Sustainability Manager

Job Overview
A leading company in the logistics and maritime transport industry is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sustainability Manager to lead their sustainability initiatives and drive responsible practices across the organization. This role is pivotal in shaping their sustainability strategy, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and fostering a culture of sustainability within the workplace.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop & Lead Sustainability excellence initiatives at Sokhna
- Develop, implement, and monitor DP World Sustainability Programs and Standards at the site
- Lead the promotion, education and project support for habitat compensation, mitigation, and management.
- Lead and conduct Stakeholder engagement at Sokhna
- Partner with multiple functions and stakeholders around the ESG parameters
- Manage the Sustainability Scorecard reporting of ESG parameters to the management.
- Guide and support the business unit to raise the Sustainability Score
- Lead and guide the Business Units in development of sustainability management plans and monitoring programs, in line with region & group requirement.
- Develop Customer Value Propositions on Sustainability
- Understand potential environmental and social impacts and co-ordinate/provide support to business units to ensure that assessments are undertaken and appropriate plans for mitigation, compensation and monitoring are developed and implemented, as needed.
- Lead and implement social initiatives at the site
- Assist with training development related to Sustainability.
- Create, manage, and advise on Sustainability bulletin as required.
- Plan and manage Sustainability due diligence assessments to assess risk and liability
- Ability to plan and manage budgets for Sustainability projects at the BU
- Liaise with Regional Office departments (such as operations, engineering, business development, etc..) to support joint initiatives and projects.
- Support and advise on the regional Carbon Management and Reduction Strategy. Identify opportunities and priorities and partner with HSE for this.
- Act as an ambassador for DP World; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World Principles, values and culture; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.

**Requirements**:
**Education, Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional certifications in ESG, Sustainability Reporting, or Environmental Management (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001, GRI, SASB, etc.) are a plus.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, or environmental/social governance programs, preferably in industrial or port operations.
- Proven track record of developing and executing sustainability strategies and programs.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, community initiatives, and managing cross-functional sustainability projects.

**Skills & Competencies**:

- Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, sustainability standards, and global reporting practices.
- Experience with sustainability scorecards, data tracking, and performance reporting.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to convert group directives into localized initiatives.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, including budget planning and monitoring.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to lead habitat/environmental assessments and social initiatives.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with sustainability software or platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); Arabic language skills are an advantage.
