**Consultancy - Boot Camp Advisor**

***Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Assignment Background**

One of USAID TRADE’s core objectives and activities is to improve the Trade Support Institutions’ (TSIs) capacity to deliver services. This will be achieved through assisting the Export Councils (ECs) in designing and conducting export boot camps tailored for different sectors to increase the quality and relevance of the trade support services to their members. These boot camps will be a part of an Executive Export Management Training Program service.

USAID TRADE Project plans to launch an intensive 2-day boot camp, co-organized with the EEC. The central theme will be “Strategic Management in the Engineering Sector.”

EEC is one of the most active ECs established by the Ministry of Trade and Industry. This council supports realizing the vision and objectives of the ministry’s exporting strategy for all sectors under the Council’s umbrella.

This boot camp is designed to equip industry professionals in engineering with a solid foundation in strategic management and tangible tools to address challenges for international export. In addition, it will be a good opportunity for creating new business linkages among participating EEC members and mentors/coaches brought by USAID TRADE.

This assignment aims to hire a short-term consultant/firm that can work with EEC and USAID TRADE team to facilitate the two-day event, assign a mentor/coach, and assist with the session structure and planning of different activities.

**Activities**

**The consultant will undertake the following tasks**:

- Structure a two-day intensive training program (sessions and timeline)
- Support in the planning of the activities, presentations, and professional panel
- Guide the participants during the training towards adopting best practices to overcome the challenges they face in their daily operations.
- Enhance the participants’ capability to present before the prospective panel (as if pitching to buyers)
- Ensure a high level of commitment, participation, and integration from the participants during the boot camp.
- Ensure professional-level presentations that will be prepared and presented by the participating companies.

**Deliverables**
- Short-list of instructors/coaches/mentors for the boot camp.
- Agenda structure and timeline.
- Two-day intensive training program for 20-25 participants, providing them with the needed knowledge about
- strategic management in the engineering sector.
- Brief USAID consultancy report describing the purpose of the consultancy, progress achieved, observations, issues or problems encountered, and details of expected follow-on activities by USAID TRADE or its stakeholders.

**Required Qualifications**:

- 5+ years of related experience in the training and consulting field.
- Excellent knowledge of creating, planning, and structuring training sessions and modules.
- Strong knowledge of successful international best practices.
- Time management (in managing deliverables).
- Fluency in Arabic and English (verbal and written).

**Project Overview and Role**:
Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) is a USAID-funded project whose objective is to increase Egypt’s international trade by increasing exports from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the activity’s “selected sectors”; Engineering Products, Food Processing, Home têxtiles, Ready Made Garments, Chemicals, Printing and Packaging, and Building Materials.
The TRADE Activity will achieve the following three Results:
1- Enhanced Export Capacity of SMEs, particularly New and Expanding Export-Ready Enterprises (NEEREs)[1] in the Selected Sectors.
2- Strengthened Public and Private Trade-Support Institutions (e.g., Trade Associations, Export Councils, etc.); and
3- Improved Trade and Investment Policy, Regulatory and Institutional Environment
