CDM Smith is currently seeking a Battery Energy Storage System Expert (BESS) /Electrical Engineer for a potential seawater desalination project in Egypt, funded by EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) and the IFC (International Finance Corporation.) The project goal is to increase the water supply mix of wastewater reuse and desalination to cope with increased demand and reduced water availability.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- The Battery Energy Storage System Expert (BESS) -Electrical Engineer should possess:
- Min of 5 years experience in largescale battery storage projects preferably coupled with Solar PV power plants;
- Experience in at least one (1) large scale battery storage project; and
- an understanding of different battery technologies and issues in the sector in Middle East and specifically Egypt; and
- Should be fluent in English/Arabic.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience on PPP (public-private partnership) water projects

**Assignment Category**

- 5%
