**About the job**:
**Requirements and responsibilities**
- Responding to critical outage incidents, leading on such incidents.
- Building and breaking servers. Physical or Virtual (VMWare/ESXi/Hyper-V/Virtualbox, Xen)
- Working with server clusters.
- Working with both Open-Sourced platforms, and Enterprise material
- Intermediate/Advanced **Networking skills.**
- Troubleshooting and config understanding
- Focus within Server Technologies specifically - not just in IT Service Desk support, ISP, home networks etc.
- Physical, or Virtualized networks.
- Exposure to load balancing, clusters, failover systems.
- Packet Analysis (wireshark, tcpdump etc) highly valued.
- Intermediate/Advanced **Database Maintenance skills.**
- This can be SQL (MySQL/MariaDB, MSSQL, OracleDB, PostgresSQL) or something more novel such as MongoDB, NoSQL.
- Less focused on query/scripting, and more on maintenance, support, monitoring, configuration.
- Clustered/Server Environments,
- Intermediate/Advanced exposure to **“Cyber Security” concepts.**
- Encryption/Cryptography,
- SSO/MFA, Biometrics
- Hacking/Pentesting
- SSL, Public Key Infrastructure.
- Good Exposure to **API’s**. Postman - Postman Collections/Automation, SWAGGER, API Scripting. REST or SOAP, both are fine.

Additionally:

- Exposure to scripting highly valued. Any language - not necessarily programming, but reading/understanding scripts, tweaking/modifying, troubleshooting. Building Automations. NPM/NodeJS, JavaScript, - Microsoft Power Automate. Use of AI
- Log file analysis. Tooling, monitoring, large-data. Use of AI.
- Some exposure to Java/J2EE/JRE. (such as JBOSS, Websphere)
- Exposure to Cloud Products/SaaS (or *aaS, xyz as a service offerings). AWS, Azure, GCP or other. As well as Exposure to On-premise Products.
- Exposure to Financial Products - or similar high-pressure industries.
