Job Summary:
The Database Administrator Specialist will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems across SQL Server environments. This role involves optimizing database performance, ensuring data integrity, and implementing security measures to protect our data assets.

Key Responsibilities:

- Database Management:

- Administer and maintain databases in SQL Server and NoSQL Server.
- Perform regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations.
- Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and schemas to improve efficiency.
- Database Design and Implementation:

- Design and implement database structures and schemas to support business requirements.
- Develop and maintain database scripts for data migration, import/export, and automation.
- Ensure database design adheres to industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Security and Compliance:

- Implement and manage database security measures to protect sensitive data.
- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments on database systems.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
- Performance Tuning and Optimization:

- Monitor and analyze database performance metrics and resolve performance issues.
- Optimize database configurations, queries, and indexing strategies for improved performance.
- Implement and manage database caching and replication strategies.
- Incident Response and Troubleshooting:

- Respond to and resolve database-related incidents and issues in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and connectivity problems.
- Documentation and Reporting:

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Generate and review database performance reports and analytics.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on database performance, issues, and resolutions.
- Collaboration and Support:

- Provide training and support to team members on database-related tools and technologies.
- Stay current with database technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements.

Qualifications:

- Experience:

- At least 3-5 years of experience in database administration with expertise in SQL Server MSSQL, MYSQL,
- Experience with NoSQL database is a plus (MongoDB, CassandraDB, Oracle)
- Proven experience with database performance tuning, security management, and backup/recovery procedures.
- Skills:

- Strong knowledge of database design, implementation, and maintenance for SQL Server.
- Experience with database monitoring and optimization tools.
- Proficiency in SQL scripting and query optimization.
- Familiarity with database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions.
- Certifications:

- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate,, MySQL Database Administrator, PostgreSQL Certified Professional, or similar are preferred.
- Soft Skills:

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple database projects and tasks.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high database performance standards.
