**Role purpose**:
The Technical Engineering Manager is responsible to manage a team of highly skilled provisioning engineers working on delivering network solutions to our Enterprise customers. The team will be responsible for remote configuration and commissioning of customer solutions over the IPVPN, SD-WAN, internet, ITN and legacy core MPLS networks including Unified Communications.

This role is will require previous experience working in the provisioning space with any Telco with handson experience on Fixed Connctivity solutions especially in the IP/MPLS, SDWAN domain carrying out build activities, testing and activation of the network services

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the cost, capacity and quality of output. Establish and maintain a close working relationship with key stakeholders in the business. Develop and maintain industry best practices in the function aligning to Agile, ITIL and others with focus on SLA’s and quality of deliveries.

**Key accountabilities and decision ownership**:

- Accountable for resource & skill availability
- Manages resource capacity
- Operationally manages 3rd parties
- Ensures skill, resource availability & certification, as appropriate
- Co-development of business rules
- Enforcing process adherence
- Creating an environment in which the teams can perform to their best
- Leads a team of highly skilled engineers
- Instils a proactive way of working.
- Ensures workload balance across teams
- Define & enforce process adherence
- Demonstrates solid stakeholder management and communication skills to guide and influence customers and third parties.

**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:

- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the telecommunications field, demonstrating a strong background in data communications with a clear understanding of technologies and systems used, this should include some of the following; Cisco Routers & Switches, PPP, MLPPP, Ethernet, configuring Cisco, Alcatel ,Juniper devices.ss
- Good understanding of; TCP/IP protocols & services (TCP/UDP, IPSec, VoIP, SNMP, DNS, Radius/TACACS+, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF),
- People skills are a must, especially a proven track record of managing across own resources, 3rd parties and outsourced staffs.
- Ability to influence and show resolve under pressure from both customers and internal stakeholders to ensure Vodafone solutions are deliverable
- Ability to bring in thought leadership in a shared services environment, nurture talent and create career growth path for people/team

**Must have technical / professional qualifications**:

- Graduate in Engineering Field
- CCNA (preferred)
