English Language Teacher

**COMPANY DESCRIPTION**

The English Language Teacher will plan, organize and implement engaging conversation & instructional programs in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop their English language core skills and proficiency through in-person and online courses. This position will specifically support our Sawiris Linkage Programs locates in Sohag, Egypt.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Teach English courses both in-person and online for Amideast’s Academic Purposes Program for the Sawiris Linkage Program in Sohag.
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate an active learning environment
- Complete all teaching-related administrative tasks to specified standards including:

- Develop detailed lesson plans
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' attendance
- Prepare tests, examination papers, and exercises
- Revise, write and produce supplementary materials, including audio and visual resources.
- Establish and communicate objectives clearly for all learning activities
- Create a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
- Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying needs
- Use relevant technology to support instruction
- Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments
- Provide appropriate feedback on student progress
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback throughout the academic year while actively promoting learner autonomy.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
- Participate in department meetings
- Attend and contribute to teacher development training sessions

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Fluent English speaker
- BA in TESOL, Language Education, English OR BA in a related field
- Certification such as TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA, from an accredited university or institute
- Minimum equivalent of 2 years teaching experience in an educational institute; Experience mentoring and observing is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
- Highly professional, organized and dependable
- Able to interact with students of all ages and skill levels
- Experience leading a classroom and creating interactive student-centered lesson plans
- Flexibility as to the hours/schedule of teaching
- Proficient computer and internet skills
